What About Jane?

“It would be mortifying to the feelings of many ladies, could they be made to understand how little the heart of a man is affected by what costly or new is in their attire …”
~Jane Austen, Northanger Abbey

The Regency Era, 1811-1820, especially during the time of Jane Austen has always intrigued me. The
artwork of the fashion plates is rather simple but beautiful. The work of the clothing is amazing
and produced by hand. I have tried to capture the moment with the use of colored pencils. I find
this medium seems to match the softness and colors of the garments.
